This program will help advisors understand the fundamentals of “elder law” and how it can positively help clients who actually need it. This program will help advisors know what to look for, including “at risk” clients, and those clients whose asset portfolio make them proper candidates for proactive elder care planning.
This program will use a mixture of education on what elder law is, what types of planning methods are available if a client proactively plans with long-term care insurance, proactively plans using estate planning tools such as irrevocable trusts, and what happens in a crisis. Advisors will also learn how to effectively talk to clients about protecting their assets from a prolonged skilled nursing stay. It will also use case studies to draw upon so that advisors have real world examples that they can use to effectively spot issues for clients and guide them.
